an extraordinary musical journey in collaboration with the prestigious Conservatorio Vecchi-Tonelli of Modena and Carpi.
From July 22 to 25, enjoy a series of exceptional performances featuring Maestro Giuseppe Fausto Modugno, world-renowned pianist, Director of the Modena Conservatory and co-founder of the Orchestra Mozart alongside Claudio Abbado; tenor Giuseppe Infantino, awarded “Best Tenor” at the Marcello Giordani competition by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation; internationally acclaimed clarinetist Corrado Giuffredi; and Maestro Paolo Andreoli.
More than 20 outstanding musicians – professors and students – will perform in synergy with Western Australian artists and the University Western Australia Conservatorium of Music.

Giuseppe Fausto Modugno
Born in Bologna in 1960, he graduated in piano “cum laude” in his town. His attention to an interpretation of the activity of soloist and chamber musician open to a wide-ranging vision of the musical phenomenon is due to a broad artistic and cultural education. Having graduated in Literature in Bologna in 1985, he studied too Composition and Conducting.
He owes his improvement to the Piano Academy of Franco Scala in Imola, which he attended studying with, among others, Joerg Demus, Nikita Magaloff, Bruno Canino and Antonio Ballista. In 1983 he attended the courses of the Accademia Chigiana in Siena in the class of Guido Agosti, obtaining the diploma of merit and the scholarship intended for the best performers.
In 1984 he improved in Città di Castello and performed at the Festival delle Nazioni as the best student. He has won seven national and two international competitions as a soloist and in a piano duo. He regularly and successfully attends the main Italian and foreign concert venues as a soloist and with orchestra. He has recorded for RAI and has toured, among others, in Russia, Germany, Spain, England, France, Belgium, the United States, South America, China and Japan, performing for prestigious institutions and in important concert halls.
In 2001 Lions Club of Bologna awarded him the “Melvin Jones Fellowship” and the Rotary Club awarded him the “Paul Harris Fellow” for his merits in the artistic field. He has been a member of the Accademia Filarmonica di Bologna since 1994, and he was its artistic advisor for years. His work as an organizer in the musical field is also tireless and important, and since its inception (in 2004) he has been the Artistic Secretary of the Orchestra Mozart directed by Claudio Abbado; with him he conceived and organized the Academy of the Orchestra Mozart, in whose ranks some of the most interesting young Italian talents of recent years have passed.
His interests have led him to dedicate himself for years to the proposal of highly attended conference-concert cycles dedicated to the authors and the historical-aesthetic problems of the great repertoire. In this activity he is often supported by important personalities from the world of Italian culture and he has been a guest many times as a pianist on RAI broadcasts with Corrado Augias, with whom he recorded sixteen DVDs on the great composers for Repubblica and L’Espresso.
In 2004 he was awarded the Diploma “Honoris Causa” as a performer by the Australian Society of Musicology and Composition.
He collaborates with prestigious instrumentalists, and pays particular attention to the repertoire for piano duo and chamber groups with strings and wind instruments. Among his interests is the contamination with other musical areas when he performs in concerts between classical music and jazz with other pianists.
Among his recordings, a CD for Nuova Era dedicated to the complete works for piano four hands by Mendelssohn and for Ermitage the Sonatas by J. Brahms for Cello and Piano and the Opera omnia for piano four hands by Mozart in 2 CDs. He dedicates himself with attention to the contemporary and Italian repertoire; for Tactus some CDs with pieces by Stefano Golinelli and Domenico Liverani (in duo with the clarinetist Corrado Giuffredi) have been released as first recordings. With the violinist Alberto Bologni he has published for the Concerto label a monographic CD with unpublished music by F.J. Haydn.
In 2024 his concert activity will take him to play in Italy and Europe, and tours are planned in Australia, China and Japan. He holds the chair of Pianoforte Principal and Director of the Musical Institute "Vecchi-Tonelli" of Modena and Carpi.
Under his guidance, the Modena Conservatory has won several EU competitions and in the next two years its teachers will carry out teaching activities abroad and its students will be involved in international exchanges. The partners of these projects are both national (Conservatories of Milan, Florence, Piacenza, Pescara, Potenza etc.) and international (Conservatories and Music Academies in Europe, Vietnam, China, Japan and Australia).
Corrado Giuffredi
The Italian clarinetist Corrado Giuffredi began his clarinet studies at 10 years old at the Conservatory of Parma where he later graduated with honors and laude.
Principal Clarinet of the Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana, Corrado Giuffredi has also performed in numerous concerts and international festivals around the world with Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala under the batons of Riccardo Muti and Daniel Barenboim. During the seasons 2010 and 2012, Giora Feidman invited Corrado to perform master classes and concerts in Safed and Jerusalem, Israel.
Cecilia Bartoli invited Corrado to perform Rossini clarinet variations at Salzburg Whitsun Festival with I Barocchisti and Diego Fasolis.
Having performed the Italian premiere of Krzistof Penderecki’s Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra, Corrado’s chamber music repertoire includes performances with: Martha Argerich, Maurizio Baglini, Giampaolo Bandini, Cesare Chiacchiaretta, Silvia Chiesa, Eddie Daniels, Enrico Fagone, Jose Franch-Ballester, Andrea Griminelli, Giuseppe Modugno, Ricardo Morales, Federico Nicoletta, Danilo Rossi, David Shifrin, Rino Vernizzi, Ensemble Strumentale Scaligero.
Corrado has also recorded for labels including Sony, Decca, Warner, Brilliant, Tactus, Arts, Fonè and Stradivarius. Corrado teaches clarinet at the Istituto Musicale Superiore in Modena and presents master classes around the world.
Corrado Giuffredi is a Backun Artist and performs on his signature series CG Clarinets by Backun Musical Services and his signature mouthpiece by Richard Hawkins and Backun. He is also a Legere Reeds Artist, performing on Legere European Signature synthetic reeds. Il clarinettista italiano Corrado Giuffredi ha iniziato i suoi studi musicali all’età di 10 anni al Conservatorio di musica di Parma diplomandosi poi con il massimo dei voti e la lode.
Dal 2003 è primo clarinetto solista dell’Orchestra della Svizzera italiana.Con l’Orchestra Filarmonica della Scala ha partecipato a numerosi concerti nei festival internazionali più prestigiosi sotto la direzione di Riccardo Muti e Daniel Baremboim.Nel 2010 si è esibito per la prima volta in Israele su invito del Maestro Giora Feidman al festival “Klezmer in Galilea”.
Recentemente su invito di Cecilia Bartoli ha eseguito le Variazioni di Rossini al Festival di Pentecoste di Salisburgo con i Barocchisti diretti da Diego Fasolis.
Ha eseguito in prima esecuzione italiana il concerto per clarinetto e orchestra di Krzistof Penderecki.

Giuseppe Infantino
Giuseppe Michelangelo Infantino was born in Leverkusen (Germany) in 1994. In 2008, he began studying piano and later opera singing, completing his studies and graduating with top honors (110 cum laude) and a special commendation. He won 2nd prize at the 5th “W. A. Mozart” Piano Competition in Mazara del Vallo.
He was awarded the special prize “Best Tenor” by the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation at the 6th International Singing Competition “Marcello Giordani.” He also won the 2021 edition of the “Etta e Paolo Limiti” competition, the 16th “Giuseppe Di Stefano” Opera Competition, and the 2022 edition of the Voce all’Opera competition. He made his debut as Rinuccio in Gianni Schicchi by G. Puccini at Teatro del Giglio (Lucca), later reprising the role at Teatro Dante Alighieri (Ravenna), Teatro Comunale di Sassari, and Teatro degli Arcimboldi in Milan.
He debuted as Nemorino in L’Elisir d’Amore by G. Donizetti at Teatro Comunale Pavarotti in Modena. He debuted as Edmondo in Manon Lescaut by G. Puccini at Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, conducted by Maestro Donato Renzetti and directed by Davide Livermore, later reprising the role at Teatro Lirico in Cagliari and Teatro Regio in Turin, with one of the performances broadcast live on Italian national TV channel Rai5. He made his debut as the Duke of Mantua in Rigoletto by G. Verdi in Bologna and later at the National Theatre of Sofia in Bulgaria. He debuted as Alfredo in La Traviata by G. Verdi, produced by the Amici della Lirica of Piacenza.
He debuted as Rodolfo at the National Theatre of Sofia in Bulgaria and later performed the same role at Teatro Coccia in Novara and Teatro Sociale in Rovigo. He also debuted in Nozze Istriane by A. Smareglia for the Illica Festival. Recently, he debuted as Pinkerton in Madama Butterfly at Teatro delle Muse in Ancona. He has an intense concert activity: at Teatro Massimo in Palermo, Teatro Greco di Segesta (TP), Teatro “Giuseppe Di Stefano” in Trapani, in Verona in collaboration with the European Organ Festival, in Florence with the Orchestra della Toscana, in Milan at the Associazione Amici del Loggione of Teatro alla Scala.
At Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, Teatro Comunale di Modena Pavarotti-Freni, Teatro Coccia in Novara, Teatro Massimo Bellini in Catania, and in Taormina in memory of tenor Luciano Pavarotti under the direction of Maestro Beatrice Venezi, sharing the stage with Maestro Plácido Domingo, tenor Vittorio Grigolo, and soprano Aida Garifullina during the Taormina Film Festival.
His international concert engagements include performances in Moscow (Russia) for the Italian Cultural Institute, as part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of tenor Enrico Caruso’s death, in collaboration with Teatro alla Scala of Milan; at Opéra Bastille in Paris; at Britten Theatre in London; in concerts in memory of Luciano Pavarotti in Busan (South Korea), Tokyo (Japan), Jakarta (Indonesia), and in China at the 5th Gulangyu Music Festival.
In his upcoming engagements, he will perform as a soloist at the Bologna Festival, at the Arena di Verona on September 30, 2025, for the 90th anniversary of Luciano Pavarotti, in Indonesia with the Leone Magiara Foundation, and in Perth (Australia) for “Italian Way: Perth, Capital of Italian Creativity in the World 2025.” He will sing Alfredo in La Traviata by G. Verdi at the Theater of Hagen (Germany) and Rodolfo at the Theater of Chemnitz (Germany) and at the Theater of Biel Solothurn (Switzerland).
Paolo Andreoli
After studying piano and composition, he attended in 1996 the two-year specialisation course for Pianists and local coach at La Scala Theatre in Milan, where he studied operatic repertoire, musical analysis and orchestral conducting, sight-reading techniques and score reduction, vocal technique pedagogy, and continuo technique, in addition to various seminars with internationally renowned conductors and composers. He also collaborated with the academy for opera singers and participated as an assistant collaborative pianist in the operas staged during the biennium.
Fascinated by the unique roles that the pianist can assume within lyric institutions and foundations, he has dedicated himself since 1998 to musical theater in all its forms, focusing on the role of the collaborative pianist for opera and developing a personal coaching methodology for opera singers. He collaborates with the La Scala Theatre Foundation in Milan, the La Scala Theatre Dance School, the Teatro Comunale Foundation of Bologna, the "G. Verdi" Lyrical Theater Foundation of Trieste, the Arena and Filarmonico Theater Foundation of Verona, the Lyrical Theater of Cagliari, the Ferrara Theater Foundation, the Toscanini Foundation of Parma, the Teatro Comunale of Ravenna, and the Teatro Comunale Foundation of Modena. He has actively participated in the production of around eighty opera and dance titles and has worked with leading international stage directors and conductors.
He has performed over 900 concerts as a pianist in operatic recitals, lieder, and chamber music, as a choral conductor, instrumental ensemble director, and to deepen and complete his personal skills, as an orchestral conductor. Since 2004, he has collaborated with Maestro Luciano Pavarotti, accompanying the Maestro's lessons for his beloved students on the piano until just a few days before Pavarotti's passing in 2007. Since then, through the Pavarotti Foundation, where he serves as musical director thanks to the trust of Nicoletta Mantovani, he has continued this collaboration focused on the research, training, and promotion of young opera singers, creating and participating in various international events in New York, Lucerne, Zurich, Beijing, Xiamen, Istanbul, Turku, Monaco, Jakarta, Bucharest, Muscat, Jeddah, Seoul, Busan, Tokyo, as well as at the prestigious Casa Museo, the Maestro Luciano Pavarotti’s last residence in Modena, where he manages a summer concert series. He is the artistic director of the Pavarotti d’Oro award, given annually to world-renowned singers.
Since 2006, he has been a stable collaborator of Raina Kabaivanska in the biennial advanced training courses and singing masterclasses held in Modena at the “O. Vecchi – A. Tonelli” State Conservatory of Music.
For over twenty years, he has worked as a vocal coach for singers from around the world, specializing particularly in the study and interpretation of the Italian bel canto repertoire.
Recently, he conducted Giacomo Puccini’s “La Bohème” at the National Opera and Ballet Theatre of Sofia. Upcoming engagements include a tour as pianist with young artists from the Luciano Pavarotti Foundation in Seoul and Beejing and conducting Nino Rota’s opera “Il cappello di paglia di Firenze” at the Conservatorio di Modena, where he is a tenured professor.
